About the Journal

Journal of Sustainability, Society, and Eco-Welfare (JSSEW) is a journal that focuses on the study of sustainable development in the social, environmental, and economic sectors. Published by the Institute for Advanced Science, Social, and Sustainable Future (IASSSF), JSSEW promotes interdisciplinary studies through collaborative writing with academics, practitioners, and policy analysts. This journal accepts writing in the form of journal articles and book reviews. We welcome research studies based on extensive data from qualitative or quantitative, or systematic literature reviews. Submissions will be subject to normal editorial decision-making and peer review processes.

Aims

JSSEW seeks to publish high-quality scholarly works from researchers, academics, and practitioners that contribute to the development of knowledge and theory in the fields of sustainability, environmental science, social welfare, and eco-welfare. The journal emphasizes the importance of interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary research, aiming to address both contentious and contemporary issues that are of global relevance.

 

Focus

The focus of JSSEW is on promoting interdisciplinary studies that address the complex interrelationships between social, environmental, and economic factors in sustainable development. The journal encourages collaborative writing among academics, practitioners, and policy analysts, particularly those that bring innovative perspectives and solutions to sustainable development challenges.

 

Scope

This journal seeks to publish a broad range of scholarly articles, including: 

  1. Social Dimensions of Sustainability: Research examining social structures, cultural contexts, institutional frameworks, and human dynamics that influence sustainable development outcomes, including social cohesion, community resilience, and quality of life across different societies.
  2. Environmental Welfare Systems: Studies exploring integrated approaches that simultaneously protect ecological integrity and enhance human welfare through responsible resource management, ecosystem services valuation, and nature-based solutions to social challenges.
  3. Social Justice and Environmental Equity: Investigations into policies, practices, and movements addressing inequality, marginalization, environmental justice, intergenerational equity, and fair distribution of environmental benefits and burdens within and between societies.
  4. Governance for Eco-Social Welfare: Analysis of policy frameworks, institutional arrangements, participatory mechanisms, and decision-making processes that effectively advance both social welfare objectives and environmental sustainability goals.
  5. Human-Environment Interactions: Studies examining the reciprocal relationships between social systems and ecological systems, including consumption patterns, lifestyle choices, cultural values, and their impacts on sustainable outcomes.
  6. Transformative Pathways to Eco-Welfare: Research on societal transitions, innovations, behavioral changes, and paradigm shifts that move communities toward more sustainable and socially equitable futures while enhancing collective well-being.
  7. Measurement and Assessment of Eco-Social Welfare: Studies developing frameworks, indicators, and methodologies for evaluating integrated sustainability performance that encompasses both social welfare and ecological health dimensions.
