Aim and Scope
J.Linkage is a leading peer-reviewed and open-access journal, published by Institute for Advanced Social, Science, and Sustainable Future (IASSSF), Jakarta, Indonesia. J.Linkage is published twice a year (February and August), and all articles published are available online with open access.
As an interdisciplinary journal, J.Linkage aims to:
- Advance theoretical and empirical knowledge on the interconnections between social communications (media, technology, rhetoric, etc.) and popular culture.
- Provide an open forum for rigorous academic debate and exchange on timely issues relating to media, culture, and society.
- Foster critical perspectives and innovative research approaches to the study of emerging communication practices, cultural meanings, public discourse, and their impacts.
- Engage with professionals in education, activism, policymaking, creative/cultural industries to inform praxis with the latest discoveries.
- Serve as a linkage between academic inquiry and applied contexts broader social dialogues to benefit wider communities.
The scope of appropriate topics for submitted manuscripts includes, but is not limited to:
- Media influence on identity formation, social movements, ethical norms, public opinion, policymaking, consumer behavior.
- Role of various communication platforms and cultures in shaping social attitudes, politics, subcultures, community dynamism.
- Intersections of popular culture with areas like literature, arts, activism, public pedagogy.
- Discourse analysis of digital spaces, cultural artifacts, rhetorical strategies, semiotics, etc.
- Impacts of globalization, power structures, and hegemony on public communication.
- Production and reception studies across communication genres and contexts.
- Critical analyses situating research historically, socially, theoretically on communication.
J.Linkage solicits contributions from various disciplines that can enrich interdisciplinary dialogues on these issues through empirical research or analytical perspectives. The peer-reviewed journal upholds rigorous scholarly standards for articles published in its pages or online platforms.
