Aim and Scope

Journal of Environmental Planning and Research (JEPAR) is a leading peer-reviewed and open-access journal, published by Institute for Advanced Social, Science, and Sustainable Future (IASSSF), Jakarta, Indonesia. JEPAR is published twice a year (February and August), and all articles published are available online with open access.

JEPAR is dedicated to advancing scholarly research in the fields of environmental planning and sustainable development. The journal aims to provide a platform for innovative studies that explore the intersection of environmental science, policy, and planning. JEPAR seeks to contribute to the development of strategies and solutions that address environmental challenges through comprehensive and interdisciplinary research.

JEPAR focuses on research that examines the processes, policies, and practices involved in environmental planning and management. It prioritizes studies that address the complex interactions between natural environments and human activities, with an emphasis on sustainability. The journal’s focus is on interdisciplinary research that integrates ecological, social, and economic perspectives to offer holistic approaches to environmental planning.

This journal seeks to publish a broad range of scholarly articles, including: 

  • Sustainable Land Use and Urban Planning: Research on strategies for sustainable land use, urban development, and the management of natural resources. This includes studies on zoning, land conservation, and the integration of green spaces into urban environments.

  • Environmental Impact Assessment and Mitigation Strategies: Examination of methods for assessing and mitigating the environmental impacts of development projects. This includes research on environmental impact assessment (EIA) processes, mitigation techniques, and the role of policy in ensuring sustainable development.
