Aim and Scope

ICD is a leading peer-reviewed and open-access journal, published by Institute for Advanced Social, Science, and Sustainable Future (IASSSF), Jakarta, Indonesia, with e-ISSN: 3047-7476. ICD is published twice a year (February and August), and all articles published are available online with open access.

ICD aims to enhance the understanding of how information and communication play critical roles in disaster management. The journal focuses on research that explores how communication strategies and information technology can be utilized to respond to, manage, and mitigate the impacts of disasters.

This journal concentrates on research that investigates the interplay between information, communication, and disaster management. Emphasis is placed on how communication tools and information technology support disaster management efforts, from preparation through recovery. The journal seeks to provide insights that improve strategies and practices in disaster response and management.

This journal seeks to publish a broad range of scholarly articles, including: 

  1. Disaster Risk Reduction: Investigating strategies and technologies for minimizing the risk of disasters through early warning systems, hazard mapping, and community preparedness initiatives.
  2. Crisis Communication: Exploring communication frameworks and tools for effective dissemination of information before, during, and after disasters to mitigate panic and facilitate response efforts.
  3. Technological Innovations: Examining cutting-edge ICT solutions such as AI, IoT, and remote sensing for enhancing disaster management, including predictive modeling, resource allocation, and damage assessment.
